Hyakko is the story of a shy girl who starts in a new school and meets 3 other girls, one of them just plain crazy (XD and I predict will pretty much steal the show). Together, they’ll create hilarious events out of simple situations.

Toradora seems like an awesome mix of series now… It includes a guy with scary eyes (Karin?) and a little aggressive girl (Shana?) that’s a bit sloppy (Nodame Cantabile?) and will end up hanging together as strange friends, under her dominance, of course (Zero no Tsukaima?). It’s actually a very promising formula, so I’m looking forward to it.

The first thing to remember is, this is still beta. That said, the browser seems decent. It holds true to Google’s pursuit of starting with minimalistic features and building up from there. The interface is clean and responds fast. Threw an acid2 test on it for the hell of it. Passed it fine (as any other nowadays browser worth mentioning). A few issues I’ve noticed would be the noticeable lack of an ad-blocking feature (much needed in today’s internet browsing), and the fact that the installer was not proxy-friendly. Not an issue for me at home, but at work I had to resort to an offline setup file (not provided by Google yet).

And from what I’ve read around, there’s already a new security bug for it (or rather an old bug that resurrected due to Google Chrome being based on an old version of WebKit. Nothing to worry about if you’re smart enough not to fall for silly social engineering tricks.

All in all, this is a good first step for Google into the browser world, but there’s still a long way to make it a viable alternative to Firefox, Opera, and that other browser that once hogged almost all the market. :P

A third season of the anime adaptation of Coharu Sakuraba’s Minami-ke manga series has been reportedly green-lit in Japan. Minami-ke tells the story of three sisters who live on their own and depend on each other to solve whatever problems may arise. Sakuraba has been drawing Minami-ke in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine since 2004. The first season of Minami-ke (pictured at right) ran on TV Tokyo in 2007, while a second season ended wrapped up in March. Another Sakuraba title, Kyo no Gononi (Today in Class 5-2), has been made into a video series and is being animated for television this October as well.

For those who don’t know what PicLens is, it’s a nice image search add-on for FireFox. Sites that support a certain format for their search results can be browsed on this app in a 3D wall.

Now, for those who already tried it, the new version is taking a step further and now supports video search results. So far, I’ve only tried YouTube, but I don’t discard that other video sites are (or will soon be) supported.

The plain depiction of the days of the lives of the Minami sisters continue on this sequel, produced by a different company. The comedy barrage is not as continuous as in season 1, but it’s still a good comedy to watch. The choice of using the same voice actors for this production is also a plus. For ecchiness lovers, this season is quite packed with some since the first episode.
